Thursday is here, it's almost time for PE with Joe Wicks, the sun (maybe) is shining … it's not that bad, is it? The only downside is that it's time to jump in with Joe (and probably his wife Rosie as he recovers from an infected hand) – so be ready by 9 a.m.
Here again, East is that a drawback? Of course it was (and sometimes still is) a chore in the morning when we just want to lie down and moan, but continuing with Joe Wicks was one of the most significant experiences of the current situation. We have been going there since the early days and it is now a real revolution in general fitness. We can now quietly get out of the chairs.
So if you're still not engaged and need a reason: it works, even if you don't do everything. Just strap on your sneakers, commit to opening YouTube every day (and come back here to know where to click. It's worth it, I promise.
Yesterday, the cards were back for a “more or less” game to decide the level of intensity needed, but we expect a more “calm” and standard set of exercises today – but with Rosie too, who know?
Don't forget to bookmark this page if you are a regular at PE with Joe Wicks – we will link to live video every day. if you're new, well, mark it anyway and commit to getting in shape during the isolation.
As for what to expect, some days it's a traditional twenty-minute session divided into two 10-minute halves, with a two-minute rest in between.
Just follow what Joe Wicks says at these points and everything will be fine – as mentioned, sometimes Joe Wicks has added sessions where he will spin a wheel, throw a coin or play “ higher or lower ” with cards to determine which exercises will be coming to help you stay interested too.
((New to PE with Joe? If doing these sessions seems too much to start with, Joe has just created a beginner workout – you can check it out on his YouTube channel now).
And every time you watch a Joe Wicks PE workout on YouTube, those early ads generate money – and all that money goes to the NHS, because Joe gives it all directly.
So it's good training in more ways than one – and he announced that, combined with the t-shirts he sells, PE with Joe has raised over £ 200,000.
We recommend that you train in front of a TV rather than an iPad or smartphone – and we've chosen the technology you'll need to do it. Most smart TVs can connect using the “ Cast ” icon (more information below), or you can get an additional unit for a low price.
And certainly, get a fitness tracker to show you how fit you are (and you can get brilliant inexpensive fitness trackers), smart scales to track your fitness journey, and a few other smart accessories like a yoga mat for blowing up the living room much simpler.

How to Watch Joe Wicks' Kids Training on a TV
The best way – if you have room – is to watch the workout in front of a TV. There are a myriad of ways to get YouTube on your TV, making it easier to get active.
Use your Smart TV
The easiest way is to have a smart TV in your life – and you may find that you are already connected. A simple way to find out is to tap the icon we highlighted above and see if your TV or streaming device is listed. If so, you're ready to go.
If not, and your TV is connected to the Internet, open your smart hub and go to YouTube, where you can follow the search instructions above to find The Body Coach TV, with a new video in direct daily at 9:00 GMT.
If you don't see it right away, it should show up just before 9 a.m. – and Wicks also gives you a few minutes to get ready.
Using Google Chromecast
Alternatively, you can use streaming sticks – one of the simplest is Google's Chromecast, which plugs into your HDMI jack and will stream content from your phone to the TV.
Launch YouTube on your smartphone or tablet and look for the broadcast icon in one of the corners.
Chromecast isn't too expensive either, and is an easy way to turn your smart TV – allowing you to stream a multitude of services (like Netflix and other streaming platforms) from your small phone screen to a larger screen:

How to look on a Roku key:
More advanced than a Chromecast, the Roku key easily turns your TV into a smart hub. Once connected, press the “ source ” button on your remote control and access the HDMI port where your Roku key is located (or, with some modern TVs, just press the “ Home ” button on the Roku remote control to get the same thing).
From there, open the YouTube app and access the Body Coach TV at 9:00 a.m. GMT … or launch it on your smartphone or tablet and look for the “ cast ” icon above, tap on it and see if the Roku is listed (which it should be if all devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network).
How to Watch Joe Wicks' PE Workout on an iPad
You have two options here: if you've already downloaded the YouTube app on your tablet, just search for “The Body Coach” and click the icon at the top of the screen for “Body Coach TV”.
From there, you'll see a list of all the videos, and at 9 a.m., the new option should appear, although you may need to refresh.
You can do the same if you do not do have the IPad app by heading to your Safari or Chrome browser and clicking on the link to The Body Coach's YouTube channel – you can play the video directly from there, and click on the full screen option in the lower right corner .

Which HIIT timer does Joe Wicks use?
Joe Wicks uses the Seconds Timer app for his workouts – you can download it for iPhone / iPad or Android phones.
There are many options for free use, but if you want to use it regularly and not get upset by having to create workouts over and over (as well as supporting developers, a nice thing to do when you use an app a lot), you'll need to make a purchase through the app.
If you really want to get the most out of your workouts – be it HIIT, Tabata or just standard racing – this is definitely worth a look.
